Home Educating Approaches and Methods

There is no one right way to home educate. Families are free to choose whatever approach or method that works for their family or individual children. Indeed, within one home educating family you might find one child opting to use online courses, another selecting to use student year level workbooks and yet another choosing to be completely self-directed, learning naturally in what we call an unschooling approach.

My in expensive e-book Choosing Homeschool Curriculum is a great starting point to being your exploration of how you can adapt your homeschool to suit your family's learning needs.

You'll probably come across the concept of DESCHOOLING: this usually described as a period of time where you and your children adjust to a different rhythm and flow of life as a home educating family.
