Local home educating support groups usually collect examples of approved learning plans and reviews - look in the Support Groups Resource Directory to find a state or local group. Although some of the learning programs and plans below are years old they will offer you some idea of how families home educate their children, record and evaluate.

If you would like to share your learning plan, application or review with other home educators through this website please email Beverley.

The examples below are provided to help you to see that no two home educadting families educate their children in the same way, and that even within the one family learning programs change from year to year. It can even be different for each child!

Most are listed twice for your convenience: firstly in stages (early childhood, primary, highschool); then secondly by state and territory.

You are welcome to use these sample learning plans/programs to help you devise your own homeschool curriculum. Please don't copy them verbatim, but think carefully about your own children's educational needs and learning styles and create a curriculum tailored to your individual family. This is the only way to successfully home educate.

This collection begins with examples drawn from the Paine Family homeschooling archives. Beverley began home educating her children in 1986, although it could easily be argued that she had been consciously teaching her children since their birth. It was in 1986 that the family sought and gained approval from attending school for their eldest child, which formalised the process.
